I find that one of the most exciting things about living in NYC is the myriad of food options, and I am grateful to have a group of friends who also enjoy trying different flavors and fusions. It is our goal to make it “around the world” by eating at different restaurants around NYC.
Look, we even have a map to track our progress!
It all started in January 2017 when Santiago asked a girl at work about a good place for Chinese food in the city. She then decided to take Santiago, myself and 8 other people to dinner at a traditional dim sum restaurant, where we indulged in eating a whole duck with soft, little, white buns, and more dumplings than you can imagine. It was spectacular – everything from the old red ballroom atmosphere to the array of little plates that covered the table. For us to try new foods. For us to share in unique food experiences.
Since that day, about once a month, we find a new country’s cuisine to try. Through this adventure, we have been to China, Senegal, Philippines, Ethiopia, Georgia, Greece, Morocco, Peru, Somalia and South Korea.
I find happiness in sharing meals with friends, spending time with good people, building memories, and exploring new flavors in this life together.
And I look forward to exploring more parts of the world, through food, with these friends!
