I’ve been thinking about goals.
Goals, dreams, hopes, aspirations, what have you. Whether they be for achieving something at work, learning a new skill, or improving upon a friendship.
Having dreams I think is important for our happiness. It’s what keeps us going every day. It’s what gets us out of bed in the morning. It inspires us to be the best we can be.
And these dreams seem to change over time.
Six years ago, I was excited to run my first half-marathon. The picture below is from the second one I did with my dad 🙂
Three years ago, I moved to Nairobi, Kenya in hopes of finding a better use for my finance skills. I had a coworker take a photo of me on my first day I was that excited.
Two years ago, I hoped to create an amazing love story. This picture was shortly after moving to Bogota with Santiago.
One year ago, I moved to the Big Apple with dreams of jogging through Central Park and building on old and new friendships. This picture taken just last week when I went out for dinner with a friend from work (with my new reddish hair…more on that later…).
I’m still living out my dreams, weaving them into my own story. Day by day, moment by moment, excited by what each hour might bring.
So what are your dreams? Do you find they’ve change over time?
